Welcome to my website!
I'm a first-generation Ph.D. Economics candidate at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, USA. I love teaching and currently, I teach an undergraduate course in introduction to Econometrics. I also have an interest in teaching Development Economics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Math for economists (or statistics), Public Finance/Economics or business courses at either undergrad or graduate levels. I earned an MSc in Economics (Umeå University, Sweden) in 2016, an MBA in Finance (Copperbelt University, Zambia) in 2013, and a Bachelor of Arts (University of Zambia) in 2009.
My research interests are in Development, Child Poverty & Inequality, Education, Economic Growth, and Taxation. My Ph.D. research focuses on the nexus between access to improved water & sanitation and later life outcomes, as well as contemporaneous outcomes. I also attempt to understand the variation in access to these essential services vis-à-vis safe drinking water and clean cooking fuel. The scope of this research covers selected low- and middle-income countries. For future research, I would like to dig deeper into three thematic areas. The first theme will basically extend some of the development research in the pipeline from the current work in progress. Secondly, I would like to explore more of the growth and monetary economics issues for African countries, a topic that is under-researched in the region or simply replicates growth models from the developed world with little contextualization for poor economies. Thirdly, I would love to engage some of my research in health economics considering the many upheavals that the world grapples with every so often with regard to global health. This is a crucial area for developing countries whose healthcare financing is low.
In my spare time, I love my family time, watching motorsport, playing chess, reading, and cooking.
